2023-24 Grants

The Morris Educational Foundation funds projects in the Morris School District that create new models for learning, enrich the curriculum, promote self-esteem, enhance and expand enrichment opportunities, and help teachers grow professionally. Our goal is to ensure the highest level of educational innovation supporting students and staff in all 10 schools in a partnership of lifelong learning.

Initiatives for Students, Teachers & Schools

  • Summer Plus ($1,500 per student) and Summer Music ($500 per student) Program Tuition – $18,500:

    A partnership with the Presbyterian Church in Morristown provided scholarships for 11 Pre-K-5 students with financial need to attend the District’s Community School’s Summer Plus program and scholarships for five rising 4th -11th graders to attend the MSD Community School’s Summer Music Academy.

  • T-Shirt Shop – $5,800:

    A direct-to-film printer to encourage entrepreneurship experiences for 3rd and 4th-year graphics students at Morristown High School.

  • Technology Student Association (TSA) – $210:

    Funding for the registration fees of six students with need in the program to attend the state TSA conference.

  • Theatre Department – $500:

    Support from a private donor for the Morristown High School theatre program.

  • The Frelinghuysen Middle School after-school community volunteer tutoring program for math and language arts serves students who are at risk of falling behind.

  • Uniforms for HOSA – Future Health Professionals – $490:

    This grant funded uniforms for Morristown High School’s HOSA – Future Health Professionals students with need to attend and compete in NJ HOSA Chapter Competitions.

  • Video Monitor Display System for Studio Set – $2,250:

    A two-monitor video display system to allow students to use images and video clips as backdrops for segments, similar to what is being used on major Network News programs.
