2023-24 Grants
The Morris Educational Foundation funds projects in the Morris School District that create new models for learning, enrich the curriculum, promote self-esteem, enhance and expand enrichment opportunities, and help teachers grow professionally. Our goal is to ensure the highest level of educational innovation supporting students and staff in all 10 schools in a partnership of lifelong learning.

Aerospace Engineering and Rocketry Program – $8,000:
Aerospace Engineering and Rocketry Program – $8,000: Funding from a private donor will provide curriculum enhancement, support for rocketry competitions as well as equipment and resources for the Aerospace Engineering and Rocketry Program at Morristown High School.

Renovation of the Athletic Gallery of Honor hallway featuring new display cases, wallcoverings and reframed images capturing the history and success of the Morristown High School student-athlete.

Books for libraries – $5,000 total:
Funding from Barclays and the Morristown Festival of Books to provide $500 of books for each school library.

Chemistry Equipment – $6,500:
Support from Novartis ($5,000) and ACS-Hach ($1,500) for cutting-edge materials to enhance chemistry education at Morristown High School.

Each year the Morris Educational Foundation awards blanket grants to all ten Morris School District schools to support cultural arts programming.

This in-kind grant from Morris Arts funded a dance residency for Alexander Hamilton students, bringing history, geography, social studies, music, dance and traditional attire to the students.

Full scholarships for 12 Frelinghuysen Middle School students with need to attend the two-day trips (Fountain Spring Lake and New York City).

Funding from a private donor to support an author talk and visit from New York Times bestselling author, Wendy Mass. All 5th-grade students attended the assembly and received a signed copy of the book, BOB.

Students at Sussex Avenue School enjoy flexible seating options in classrooms allowing them to learn in ways that best suit their individual needs and preferences.

Jack Hartmann Virtual Phonics Workshop – $600:
Virtual workshops focusing on letters, sight words, math concepts, and even fitness for the K-2 students at Woodland Elementary School.

Jazz for Teens - $1,100.00
This grant from an anonymous donor will underwrite the tuition for one Morristown High School student to participate in Jazz for Teens at NJPAC during the 2023-2024 program year.

Funded by a private donor, ARTS By the People’s Jump The Turnstile program featured intensive writing workshops for the Morristown High School creative writing classes.
