
Scholarships
The MEF awards scholarships to eligible MHS seniors through an application process. Scholarships are funded by individuals and foundations, and are awarded at the Senior Academic Awards Night each June.
Applications for all scholarships can be obtained directly from the Guidance Department at MHS after April 15. Applications can also be obtained by request to the MEF at MorrisEdFoundation@gmail.com.
Dorothy F. Johnson Scholarship - 2 Year Scholarship - $1,750 per year
This scholarship, created through a bequest from the estate of Dorothy F. Johnson, a 1947 MHS graduate and community leader, will be awarded to each of two (2) graduating seniors for two years in the amount of $1,750 per student per year. The selected students must be taking business administration related courses now and intending to pursue business administration in college. Proof of declared major is required for continuance.

Ruth Marantz Cohen French Award - $100
To honor Ruth M. Cohen's passion for teaching French, her husband, Murray, established this annual award and fund for students of French language and literature. Mrs. Cohen taught at MHS for more than 30 years. The student is chosen by the French Department.

John T. Cunningham Scholarship - $1,250
This scholarship was established by the MEF through the sale of the book "Youth's Bright Years: An American High School", written by alumnus John T. Cunningham, class of '32. The MHS graduating senior pursuing a major in the broad field of communications at a four-year college, meeting the criteria of grade point average, related extra-curricular activities, teacher recommendations, and excellent writing skills will be awarded $1,250.

Wong Family Scholarship - $4,000 per year
Robert Wong, MHS Class of 1967, established this Alumni Association scholarship in memory of his parents. This generous award is for $4000 per year for up to four years. The Morristown High School graduating senior must intend to pursue an undergraduate degree in liberal arts and exemplify the traits of scholarship, perseverance, patience, diligence and consideration of others. The recipient must submit evidence of continued eligibility to receive the remaining scholarship payments of $4,000 per year (totaling $16,000). This scholarship is co-sponsored with the Alumni Association of Morristown High School which manages the scholarship award and the selection process.
